NEW: Akela camp is open to Cubs entering 2nd-5th grade!
Akela Camp gives Cub Scouts an introduction to resident camp with the comfort of having an adult by their side. Join us in the Northwoods and enjoy sailing, canoeing, archery, handicraft and more, all while sleeping under the stars in our brand new platform tents. Scouts BSA members who need a leadership opportunity can attend Akela Camp as a Den Chief!

Day Camp

From fishing and climbing to obstacle courses and outdoor skills, your Scout will go on a new adventure every day with our day camp staff. Get back in action with us this summer!

Twilight Camp is a Friday and Saturday afternoon Day Camp held in the Potawatomi District. A great introduction to the camp experience, Twilight Campers rotate through stations meant to challenge and teach outdoor skills. Previous activities have included fire-starting and STEM activities, arts and crafts, archery, field games, rock climbing, and more. Parents are welcome to join in all or part of Twilight Camp, and the whole family is welcome to join us for the Saturday night potluck!

Attending camp at Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan is one of the capstone experiences of being a Scout in the Northeast Illinois Council. Located in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan is known nationally for delivering excellent resident camp programs. Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan High Adventure Base Treks
Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan Scout Reservation’s Nationally Accredited High Adventure Base offers treks for Scouts age 13+. Whether your unit wants to take in vistas on foot, paddle through clear waters, or sail on Lake Superior, there's a trek for every kind of adventure. If you don’t see a trek that you like, contact our Program Director for information on custom trek options. We also offer in-camp day trips designed to complement your resident camp experience.
