Feature Scout: Rachel | Pack 463 Northbrook
Meet Rachel
I’ve been in Pack 463 in Northbrook since I was in kindergarten, and I’ve had so much fun in Cub Scouts! I like that my dad is the leader of the pack and helps with my den, too.
I’m in fourth grade now, and I’ll be crossing over to Scouts BSA next year. That’s one of the things I’m looking forward to most.
My best friend has been in my den for the last three years. She went with me to Akela Camp last summer, which has been my most fun experience in Cub Scouts. We got to do a lot of things, and I met a really fun staff member in Handicraft. I hope to see them again when I go to Akela Camp this summer.
If someone is just joining Cub Scouts, I would tell them to learn how to use a knife carefully when they get to third grade and to have a safety circle.
I like doing the rope bridge any chance I get, like at Boo Camp and at my pack’s first outside meeting of the school year.
I’m also looking forward to the National Jamboree in 2026, because my dad and my brother said it was really good last summer. I’ll be old enough to go. There are very good views from what I’ve seen in their photos.
